The annual height safety campaign No Falls Week, organised by the No Falls Foundation, has reached an important milestone with more than 5,000 organisations and individuals now registered to take part.

Taking place from 18–22 May 2026, No Falls Week aims to raise awareness of safe working at height and encourage organisations across construction, facilities management and other sectors to prioritise height safety within their operations.

The campaign has grown steadily since its launch in 2024, bringing together businesses, trade associations and safety professionals to help prevent falls from height and ensure everyone who works at height can do so safely.

Highlighting the Ongoing Risks

Working at height remains one of the most significant safety challenges facing the built environment sector.

Latest statistics from the Health and Safety Executive show that falls from height continue to be the leading cause of workplace fatalities in Great Britain, with 35 workers losing their lives in 2024/25. Falls accounted for almost one third of all workplace deaths, nearly twice as many as the next most common cause of fatal injury.

Non-fatal injuries are also widespread. Almost 5,000 people were reported injured in falls from height in 2024/25, although the true number is believed to be significantly higher due to underreporting – particularly among self-employed workers.

Over the past decade, estimates suggest that as many as 425,000 falls from height incidents may have occurred in the workplace, resulting in significant personal, operational and economic consequences.

These incidents not only affect workers and their families but also have a wider impact on businesses and the economy, with more than 416,000 working days lost in 2024/25 alone and an estimated total cost exceeding £764 million.

A Collective Effort to Improve Height Safety

Commenting on the campaign’s growing momentum, Hannah Williams, Charity Manager at the No Falls Foundation, said the milestone reflects the increasing commitment across industry to tackle falls from height.

She noted that it is encouraging to see organisations of all sizes supporting the initiative, while emphasising that preventing avoidable deaths and injuries requires continued collaboration across the sector.
