CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY HOLDS UP – JULY 2021

With a long history in delivering the best training and guidance in the temporary and permanent suspended access industry, SAEMA monitors the latest developments in the construction sector, particularly regarding worker health and safety, sustainability and equality.

Build UK, the leading representative organisation for the UK construction industry, has published the latest information from Builders’ Conference, which shows that construction activity remained steady in July as the industry enters the start of the traditional summer slowdown.

State of Trade for Construction show that the total number of contracts awarded during July 2021 are well up compared to the same time last year. While this is to be expected, with lockdown measures gradually eased over the last few weeks, it is nonetheless encouraging news.

Construction is vital to the UK economy, so this latest release also bodes well for recovery after one of the most challenging periods in recent history. The permanent and temporary façade access equipment industry is a crucial part of the supply chain in construction, which is why SAEMA is delighted to share this news release.
